HOT on TOH

Ben’s Cookies is a chain of cookie shops in England. The original store is located in Oxford’s historic Covered Market and has since expanded to include ten stores. Their cookies are very fresh and are usually served up still warm out of the oven. They are slightly undercooked, giving them a crisp outside and a soft and chewy consistency. Their cookies are also characterized by large chunks of chocolate.

I am writing this review because when trying to decide whether to use this company, I tried to research the opinions of others but couldn't find anything on the internet. Despite this, I decided to use them based on the wonderful sales pitch. Please note that this is not a review of the company's product as I have not yet had the wardrobe fitted but more of a warning to others that they don't naively pay a deposit in good faith (stupid, I know). I paid my deposit on 31/7 and was told that the "professional drawing" would be ready in a couple of days and the fitting carried out 1st week of September. After chasing my drawing, I was eventually e-mailed what can only be described as a pretty cartoon which did not reflect the wardrobe I had ordered, the materials, any reference to a warranty etc. In fact the cartoon had "computer impression only, not to form part of any contract" and "no drawing will be released until an order has been confirmed" stamped all over it. When I phoned to request the drawing be released I was told that they don't normally put anything contractual or warranty related down on paper.....unbelievable! Is this company serious? Do they expect me to let fitters in and fit whatever they want? However, after a bit of debating, I was told that they could "do something" for me....yeh, right! Anyway, tomorrow is the 1st September and I still don't have a drawing, nor have I received a call to organise a fitting or an explanation for a delay. I do hope that the fitting side of this company is more professional than the commercial. If you do decide to use this company, please obtain the drawing/installation period etc when you place your deposit as P |

We visited this water garden centre 5 years ago and it was very good, sadly it is very different now. We went on the 29/08/10 and found it to be unkempt, dirty, untidy, smelly etc etc. The 'gardens' were overgrown and full of litter, as was the outside show area and car park.Everything was dirty. The fish and animals looked hungry and thin. I would never waste time going there again or reccomend to anyone. what a shame it has become so unloved. |

It may be 140 years old and relatively unknown to most Glaswegians, but Britain's oldest private bathing complex is owned |

I am not sure that this company actually exists. The old phone number on their website is disconnected and the one on this site belongs apparently to a residential house. However they have managed to cash my money, so be warned this might be a scam! |

5. Anthony. M said about Artisan Timber & Flooring Ltd
We used this firm to undertake a simple job. They visited us and provided an estimate with the promise of doing the best they could to rectify a few flooring faults. The estimate listed some basic tasks but the promise was made to make every effort to improve matters. In truth they did the simple jobs listed on the estimate and charged us £160 VAT materials for under 2 hours odd job work (not skilled). despite promises that the tradesman would make every effort to rectify our problems he didn't. As soon as we questioned why a quick job was done rather than the thorough one promised we got got no mature conversation. We witheld £100 until a reason was given or they returned to complete the work, Within days they had instructed their solicitors to sue us which they proceeded with. |
